Nacio en 6 de julio de 1946 en Connecticut, Estados UnidosBush fue elegido 46º Gobernador de Texas en 1994, siendo reelegido para dicho cargo en 1998. Ganó la nominación del Partido Republicano a las elecciones presidenciales de 2000, y fue elegido Presidente en unas elecciones generales particularmente reñidas con controvertidas secuelas que terminaron con la intervención de la Corte Suprema [1]. Ganó las elecciones de 2004, cuando disputaba la Presidencia con el demócrata John Kerry y así su mandato se extendió hasta enero del 2009.
